St. Paul’s United Church
Our Mission: Glorifying God through Worship, Proclaiming the Gospel of Christ and Serving Others in Christ’s name.
Update from the 190th Anniversary Committee
The committee of Ron Naugler, Debbie Allison, Donna Chauvin and Carole Peacock have been the busy bees of the committee. As a lead up to Anniversary Sunday, they have introduced an Anniversary candle on the communion table and hung a beautiful banner on the pulpit with the message 190 Years of Faith.
On the last two Sundays we have heard from Carole Peacock and Brad Green as they reflected on the history of the church and youth group activities in the 1980s: life lessons and the success of its members. This Sunday, Alanna Palmer will pay tribute to long-time church organist and choir director Janis Kalnins.
In addition to activities within the church, a five-foot eastern white pine tree, donated to St Paul’s to mark this anniversary milestone, has been planted at the Fredericton Botanic Garden. There will be a dedication ceremony with an accompanying plaque at the site soon.
On Anniversary Sunday, November 6, we will be joined by guest speaker Rev. Mike Bravener — pastor, musician, entertainer, Chaplain at the University of New Brunswick. We will also enjoy a piano duet by Sharon Pond and Alexis Ervin. A reception with tea, coffee and Anniversary cake will follow in the church hall where you won’t want to miss the display of historic photographs prepared by the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick.
