St. Paul’s United Church

Our Mission: Glorifying God through Worship, Proclaiming the Gospel of Christ and Serving Others in Christ’s name.

From the desk of Rev. Michelle:

As you probably know Covid has finally found our house. Overall, we are doing well with no severe symptoms to date. Thank you to those who have sent well wishes and who have held us in prayer. Your continued prayers are greatly appreciated for both us and all who are ill this day.

Blessings Rev. Michelle

Time to start your Christmas shopping? Do it with FundScrip gift cards. Use the cards to purchase gifts or give the cards as gifts to family and friends. Gift cards make great stocking stuffers, too! You could even donate a gift card to St. Paul`s Pantry! (Walmart cards preferred.) We will have two orders before the holiday season . . . Sunday, November 6 and Sunday, December 4. Order forms are available in the office and the Narthex or by clicking here 6Nov2022-FundScrip-Order-Form.pdf. If you are not yet a FundScrip shopper and would like more information about the program, Carole Peacock will be happy to answer your questions. Remember: Shopping is fundraising for St. Paul’s!

Toonies For St. Paul’s!

Thank you to everyone who saved their Toonies over the summer. Our total raised so far is $1,076. It is not too late to contribute. Anniversary Sunday in November 6th!

Moment for Memories

On November 6, St. Paul’s will celebrate its 190th anniversary. Imagine how many stories those years must hold! No matter how long you have been attending St. Paul’s, you, too, have memories and stories to tell. We’d love to hear some of them in the next few weeks as we take a Moment for Memories during the service. Did you come here as a child? Perhaps you were a Brownie or a Boy Scout. As you grew up, did the lessons learned from those early days affect the way you live today? Maybe you were married here and joined St. Paul’s as an adult. Did you teach Sunday School or share in the fellowship and work of the Saturday Night Club? Do you sing in the choir, belong to the UCW, help in the pantry? So many activities, so many stories. Tell us in a few words how the people of St. Paul’s have affected your life and the lives of others in the church. If you are or were involved in an outreach program tell us how St. Paul’s has helped others in the community or in another part of the world. In what ways have we been living the Gospel and shining Christ’s light for last 190 years? Won’t you share your story with us? For more information or to volunteer to tell your story, please contact Carole Peacock at 452-1016.

Angel Tree Alert

Once again, Greener Village Food Bank is seeking our help in making Christmas wishes come true for 40 local children whose families are being looked after by the Food Bank this year. I don’t have an exact date yet, but in a few weeks, we will receive the Angel tags to hang on the Christmas tree. Then you can select a tag, buy a gift and return it to the church by a specified date. Once all the gifts have been received, we will deliver them to the Food Bank. The people of St. Paul’s have always been generous in supporting this tradition. Watch for further details in future editions of eNews.   (Carole Peacock)
