I think of it as the womens' sunshine league. I have some wonderful friends whom I feel I can call upon for support, fellowship and fun. I look forward to our functions as well as Church itself on Sunday. I am having such a good time that as well as being the President and a leader of a group I am also a member of the other group. I think of the children's hymn " The wise may bring their Learning." - we'll bring the little duties we have to do each day, we'll try our best to please Him... even though we might not have wealth or learning. We meet monthly - have a worship opening, a business meeting of what we are striving for. We are more than a social group - we are givers of time and love in service to our Lord. We have speakers who are in service work we would like to support, we also have members of the group or congregation talk about a human interest project and they often have photographs to show. We participate in the Coffee Hour after the service, we cater to funerals and we have catered to weddings and family celebrations. We have teas, craft and bake sales. We have shut-ins whom we remember. We raise a considerable amount of money for our Church every year. We turn over the bulk of it to aid the Church and operate on an annual budget. Our ages do not matter as we are young at heart. If you are not already a member I think you will love our fellowship and want to participate. Donna Chauvin leads the morning group. It meets on the 2nd Wednesday at 10 am. She can be reached at 458-5885. |
