Today in our Psalm we are invited to call on God and give thanks for all that God has done for us, and for all of God’s people. We are called to rejoice and to celebrate.
In prayer, we often come seeking something for ourselves, and not necessarily in a selfish way. We need, and so we call on the one who fills our needs. We also come seeking guidance to live in to a will completely other than ourselves, but a will that speaks deep within us.
The psalm calls us to celebrate because of all those times where we lifted our voices in prayer and God answered, was with us, supporting us.
Let us pray. Let us celebrate the presence and guidance of our God.
Psalm 105:1-6:
O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name, make known his deeds among the peoples. Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wonderful works. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually.
Remember the wonderful works he has done, his miracles, and the judgements he has uttered, O offspring of his servant Abraham, children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
Amazing God, we give you thanks for all the ways in which you move in, through, and around us. In your name we live into this moment, and by your breath we move into the next.
Speak to us again. Guide our hearts and minds to acts that give glory to you, acts that bring your love to all. As children of Abraham, we are bearers of your loving covenant, and as kindred in Christ we are witnesses to the lengths you will go to demonstrate your love. Thank you again and again, O Giver of All.
We remember you. We glorify your name. AMEN
Blessings,
